Water and Skin
SWIMMING
Sea water can be therapeutic, but it is also drying. So after a swim in the ocean, rinse off the salt and reapply your sun block. After swimming in a chlorinated pool, it is important to shower to get the chlorine off your skin (I remove my suit in the shower, thus rinsing both the suit and myself in one stroke). Always lubricate the skin on your body and moisturize your face after swimming.
BATHING
As applicable to skin care, bathing is necessary to have clean skin. I believe baths are wonderful for relaxation, but for clean skin, showers are better. If you love baths, get into the habit of rinsing off afterward in the shower. When bathing I use the same soap on my body as I use on my face because all my skin, from head to toe, is important. I keep a pumice stone in the tub to get rid of dead skin on my elbows and on the bottoms of my feet two places many people forget. After a bath or shower, try rinsing with cool (not cold) water to close the pores all over your body, just as you do after a facial or a masque for your face. Consider your skin as one big sheet all over your body it's all special, all fragile and it all needs care. Since it covers 100 percent of you, it needs almost that much attention.
