Specialized Care for Combination Skin

Combination skin consists of dry and oily patches which need separate care. It is caused by the natural concentration of glands being heavier in some parts of the face than in others normally in a T shaped area across the forehead and down the nose. It is often too expensive to have different products for each area, so the answer is to use mild soap and water, or a cleanser that is not too abrasive for the dry areas but will clean the oily areas too. A mild toner, either non alcoholic or with a small amount which can be diluted with water for the dry patches, is useful to remove excess grease and stimulate the circulation. Then, a medium rich moisturizer is essential, concentrating on the dry parts, plus a special cream for eye area and neck. A clearing mask once a week down the centre panel will make all the difference to the balance of the skin.
