FRAGRANCES

Fragrance can express your personality, create a mood. The aura of a certain fragrance can be your fashion signature, announce your presence, leave a lingering scent when you are gone. Great beauties, throughout history, have used perfume to express their personality or create a mood ... romantic ... seductive ... intoxicating. Have you a scent that is uniquely yours? One that is in keeping with the image you wish to project? Why not consider trying something new?

For the sophisticated woman: an exotic scent, with ingredients from the Orient, such as jasmine, patchouli. Use scent to convey a mysterious mood. Examples: Opium (Yves St. Laurent); Obsession (Calvin Klein); Shalimar (Guerlain); KL (Perfumes Lagerfeld); Fendi (Parfums Fendi); K. de Krizia (Krizia).

For the outdoor woman: a woodsy combination such as sandalwood, rosewood and cedar. The mood is natural and alive. Examples: Ivoire (Balmain); L'air du Temps (Nina Ricci); Caleche (Hermes).

For the romantic woman: mixed floral, subtly blended fragrances which are soft and unmistakably feminine. Examples: Anais Anais (Cacharell); Ombre Rose (JeanCharles Broseau); Chloe (Parfums Lagerfeld).

For an old fashioned effect a single floral, rose or lilac. For a natural effect a fresh citrus blend comprising oranges, lemons, limes. Example: Eau Fraiche (Elizabeth Arden).

For the executive woman: crisp but understated classic blends such as Madame Rochas, or the more recent Knowing.

While your choice can be influenced by mood and personality, the determining factor is how the fragrance reacts with your body chemistry. Don't let your choice be based on whether you like the perfume on someone else; there is no way of knowing, until you try, how the same perfume will react on your skin.

Scent behind the ears is not enough! For an aura of fragrance wherever you go, spray on your wrists, behind your knees and add a dash of cologne to your hair.

Special note

* If your skin is oily, use less perfume.

*The most efficient way to apply scent is with an atomizer.

* Don't keep your perfume forever. Perfume evaporates and changes scent with time.

When you store perfume, never keep it in the sunlight, as it will lose its scent.

* If your favorite fragrance does not last on your skin, try using a scented bath gel or cream after your bath followed by a splash of perfume or eau de toilette (all in the same scent).

Caution Sunlight on perfumed skin can cause discoloration, irritation and attracts insects. Scent sprayed on jewellery or furs will discolor them.
