Gentle Skin Cleansers for Face

The following recipes should be used on the face only:

Cucumber Milk Cleanser (for dry skin) : Use a blender to liquefy 1 cucumber; strain to remove seeds. Mix together equal amounts of cucumber juice and whole milk. Apply to skin with cotton ball and rinse immediately with cool water several times. (Can be stored in the refrigerator and used over the course of one week.)



Vitamin Cleanser
(for normal to oily skin) Soak 1 cup of dried kidney beans overnight. The next day, drain and add enough water to cover the beans, and simmer for 2 hours. Strain, re taining the liquid to use as a cleanser. Apply with a cotton ball; rinse immediately with cool, clear water. (Can be stored in the refrigerator and used for one week.)

Almond Milk Cleansing Lotion
(for oily skin)


Put 1/4 cup almonds into food processor and process into almond meal. Blend together almond meal, 3-4 cups rosewater, and one tablespoon witch hazel. Apply to skin with cotton ball; rinse immediately with cool water.



Sweet Butter Cleansing Cream


Soften 2 tablespoons sweet (salt free) butter; mix in a glass bowl with 4 tablespoons mineral oil and 2 tablespoons sesame oil. Add 1 tablespoon distilled water and spoon into a wide mouthed jar. Smooth mixture onto face with fingertips; massage into skin with gentle circular massage for one minute. Rinse with warm water several times. (Store in refrigerator, soften at room temperature for a few minutes before use; discard after 1 week.)
