Exfoliation Skin Care
Ever thought the that lizards, who shed their skin regularly, might have concerned
the world's beauty secrets? Dead cells, trapped waste matter, clogged
make up and general debris can also too easily build up on the skin's surface into a
toughened barrier of old skin which prevents treatment creams
penetrating the epidermis and creates a lifeless, lined and grey looking
Exfoliation, or surface peeling, is a messy but effective extension of,
cleansing, which, if used once or twice a week, will certainly refine, brig
and soften the complexion by sloughing off this dingy curtain.
Steaming the face over a bowl of boiling water, or a facial sauna, will help to loosen impurities, open the pores and make it easier for exfoliating creams and lotions to work effectively.
Suspended within these creams is a mass of microscopic granules, which will massage the epidermis, lift off dead surface skin, and refine and stimulate the layer beneath. Some exfoliators are designed to lather up and rinse off with water use them with a soft complexion brush or a special facial 'loofah' pad to buff and polish a new glow onto the skin. Exfoliators are also particularly useful of course for softening and polishing up areas that are prone to collect patches of hard, dead skin such as elbows, heels and knees.
