No doubt you will have heard the phrase 'as smooth as a baby's bottom'. Well, this is absolutely true, because a baby's skin (especially the bottom) is protected from the outside world, hence the skin is smooth. Babies are also free from the hormonal changes that occur throughout adolescence and adulthood and that affect the skin's condition and appearance. It is best to use only those products that have been designed especially for babies. Always keep the skin around the nappy area very dry by using baby powder. Bathe frequently using a baby bath cleanser or oil. Avoid using perfumed products because these can cause adverse reactions.
