Freckles

Certain people often red heads are born with skin prone to freckles, which are groups of cells in the skin containing above normal amounts of the dark pigment called melanin. They will fade in the winter, increase in the summer, can be reduced with a mild chemical peeling, but will return on re exposure to sunlight. They are often very attractive, but if the possessor wants to keep them to a minimum, the use of a sun block is essential in spring and summer. Freckles that appear later in life are called Brown Spots.
